Yahoo User Thing -- what are people talking about?

I have no idea what the Yahoo thing is about. Was there a Yahoo forum, and Yahoo shut it down and told users to go to SW? Me no understand.

People talked about a variety of topics just like on SW. And asked a lot of questions so people can respond but there were a lot of trolls on there. When yahoo answers shut down they didn't tell users to go to sw. People were asking questions where to go. A lot of people like myself didn't like reddit and I came across someone saying the came to sw and said it was much friendlier and nice.

@Sunflower2021 I thought it was pretty popular, do you know why they shut down?

@Sunflower2021 Interesting. Thanks.

@QueenandCrown They didn't give a real reason that I know of. A lot of people speculated that they didn't make money or they wanted to focus on other yahoo products in order to make money.
People of SW were asked to recruit yahoo answer people who had no where else to go once they shut down.

@Sunflower2021 It was like Quora?

@Sunflower2021 Same I probably began using YA in 2005 when it began. I was not active over the last 5 years.

@uncleshawn A bit different

Sir, I am from Yahoo Answers. This is clearly the best answer.

I was there for a long time, 2007 I think.. I Can't really remember when I came to SW, I tried Quora and did not like it...This is very to the fun parts of YA. If you asked what you thought was a humorous question you would often be ganged up on and your question would be deleted as the site was self moderated. Legitimate questions would be deleted if someone with a lot of sock puppet accounts did not like you...

Yahoo clearly didn't have the management capability ever since Verizon took over the corp. They had the chance to gain money from their biggest products, but they failed to do anything. They obliterated a huge library of internet history, started from Yahoo Groups and Yahoo Answers recently.

@Anhedonia Yes Yahoo has gotten rid of everything good about the website starting with Yahoo games, Yahoo answers, I even enjoyed my online Yahoo avatar back in the day where you could make different skins and choose clothing it was really cool.

If I can get a clear answer, I'm gonna go buy a watermelon then.

@uncleshawn Make that two.
