How often do you think someone should weigh themselves if they are trying to lose weight?

Once a week? Once a month? Never?

Really depends on the person. I usually go with once a week, but if you're weighing yourself more than that you're really just going to frustrate yourself.

Never. It's too discouraging. Focus on changing your lifestyle, and maybe check back in a year.

@Reject I've worked with a few people trying to lose weight and nothing stopped them faster then regularly checking their weight. People need to understand that losing weight requires commitment over a long period of time and if they aren't losing like they'd expect to, they often feel like the diet isn't working or they need to change something when really they just need to stay consistent and stick with the plan.

When I was losing weight, I weighed myself every week. It was important for me to make sure I was on track. No one I've met has lost large amounts of weight without weighing in regularly. It may feel discouraging, but it gives you the chance to adjust your diet and exercise as you go along.

Weekly worked for me personally. If i gained it meant i could change my behaviour immediately. I did it every monday morning.
every day seems too frequent to notice much change. once a week seems more correct to me as you are more likely to notice progress.

Many times to see if diet and exercising is working or if thE fatness keep hiding somewhere else.
