I Write As a Form of Therapy

[big]Essence[/big]
The devotion of love
Engages the psyche
Within the cloak of acceptance
Where nurtured souls reside
For a soul is not of the heart
It's the mind
Existing in the thoughts of
Uncensored emotions
Raw and simple
Thus kindness exists
Forgiveness combines
Together with coherent
Acts of forgiveness
You can touch a soul
Be its mate
Give it peace
Make it feel
Watch it react
See it respond
Sense its needs
Meet its desires
With simple
Utter
Absolute
Surrender to each other.

I love the idea that the soul and the mind are entwined with love. That surrender and acceptance is the essence of true love. And finding inner peace after being a raw and true person with someone is how you know your souls connect.

I also like the staccato like phrases that start out longer but get simpler and more direct as it goes on as if the writing itself is letting go.

In all truth...the picture was my inspiration...well, that and self experiences. Mercifully, I have mellowed with age...I hope! Smiles and a melancholy sigh..... [image deleted]P.S.Admiration for the artist!

@4getmenot The picture is a great one no doubt. :) We all mellow with age. Or at least the memories lose their edge.

Yes, the memories aren't as sharp...nor do they cut deep any longer!...or do we just begin to understand to cling to the good ones?...
Oh my, I am in a pensive mood this morn.

Nostalgia tinges everything. Its one of the pleasures or curses. You seem to be. But that is not always a bad thing
