I Hate My Mother

I can't take the pressure of constantly feeling guilty because of my toxic mother making everything seems my fault. The constant abuse, the scarred memories of her abuse. Feeling trapped because of i can't do anything to stop her from bullying me. Help..please.

You are an adult, walk away.

@bigjohndl you'd be surprised how many times i tried to make peace with her and make everything right. I even bought her gifts on normal days to surprise her and take initiative to better out relationship. She never used any of my gifts really until i pointed it out and she completely forgot about it and went straight back to abuse.

@Valencia your attempts are probably wasted efforts...if your mother is anything like mine she is a narcissist who's agenda does not involve respecting you. Best method:keep at arms length.

@Flenflyys You just perfectly explained mine, might add who has nothing but hatred in her heart for me. I'll keep her at arms length till i'm able to move out and do well on my own then i swear to everything that's holy on this earth i'll make her wish come true, she said she wanted me dead. I'll be dead to her as i can be. She won't see me again, she won't hear from me ever again.

There is only one answer short of winning the lotto; a job and your own residence. After that, it's simply a matter of limiting your time in her presence and, when you do see her, thinking of her as a character in a cable TV sitcom (but don't laugh out loud until you get home).

@greenmountaingal 3 years left.. I reckon i can move out next september however, because i'm seriously fed up with EVERYTHING she does/says about me. I can't take it anymore, i just can't

Live in someone's garage, or live aboard someone's boat, or live in a van, truck or RV, or camp out etc....just get your own place ASAP. You will feel strong enough to cope with the problems of living on your own when you're free of your current energy draining situation.
