I'd trade ecological disaster for COVID any day since COVID is manageable. Science shows that if predators disappear, that creates the existence of mesopredators which causes collapse since mesopredators actually come in larger packs than predators. I remember hearing about how towns would wipe out one pest but then that pest would eat other pests and since there were no pests, the crops all died, leading to famine.

For one vaccine for one person, 2.5 sharks would die. I am not looking forward to the consequences of what is going to happen.
