I was closer to her because of the life I had. We struggled a lot so both my parents had to work. My grandmother was more like my mother. To be really honest, I was dying when I was younger, she's the one who took care of me day and night for 3-4 years. Idk she was a huge part of my life and I never felt more sad when even my dad died as compared to when she passed away.
