I suppose it was a friend -- an aeon ago and we aren't still friends now, so the memory is bittersweet.
The best thing I *never* held was a tiny baby German Shepherd puppy that someone showed me. I was afraid I would drop it!

I know what you mean about tiny baby things..I refuse to hold human babies because I’m clumsy as hell. My own I did but I had no choice!

@SW-User I am clumsy also! Always dropping things or tripping over them. The only baby thing I have ever held was a kitten once.
With the friend it was the first time I ever hugged him, and that was goodbye forever.

I have a couple of relationships that I still think of that way. I try to think it’s fate @SW-User

@SW-User I am not really a believer in fate or destiny, but the parting I mentioned was one that needed to happen. It was best for all concerned.
