I agree with this. China already owns too much farmland here wtf they need to be stopped f

Foreign countries should not be permitted to buy land beyond their own boundaries - perhaps with the sole exception of embassies and consulates.
Even overseas companies and corporations should only be permitted to rent offices and facilities, not own them.

A country should never risk its sovereignty.

@hartfire I.agree. I mean why do we even need a border then if other countries can just cut out pieces of land for themselves. What the hell
Despite their huge population, China has enough land to grow its own food. It has a vast range of geographic areas and all the labour and technology it needs. And it has more than enough science to know how to do it in a ecologically sustainable way.
China's efforts to buy land in foreign countries over the last 40 years are, I believe, subtle ways of expanding territory.
Consider how America contains in its constitution the right/imperative(?) to go to war on foreign soil to defend any of its business interests. If the USA wishes to retain this right, then it must concede that other countries have the same right. This is an inherently dangerous scenario.

Such truth and the amount will only increase before long. It's beyond frightening to be in this predicament. Our land should be just that; our land.
Nobody00 · F
@MoonlightLullaby exactly . I'm sure China would not sell its land to USA
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nobody00 China has polluted the hell out of their land. Nothing fit to eat grows there. It’ll get as bad over here as over there if it’s allowed to continue. Countries like Mexico do not allow foreigners to buy up their land. They will allow a person to lease land for their lifetime and then after they die the property with whatever improvements or homes build on it will belong to Mexico, they won’t allow them to be inherited by family members either.

@cherokeepatti China government doesn't even allow Chinese people to own land.

Which begs the question, what planet are they from?

China would love to control the world economy, and they are doing their best to do it
SteelHands · 61-69, M
General Motors, Google, Facebook, most of Wall Street and the major media the false elected of the US government don't give a shit.

They'll realize they made a mistake once the Chinese take over and do what they do with people that help them get power.

Brutal but effective. Eliminating those that help you up a ladder ensures nobody else can climb it.
Why are Americans selling to Chinese in the first place...? Or do they not realize who the buyers are?
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
@Haniazed We've been selling land to foreign countries
(not just China) since 1978 with the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act, that I know of.The date could very well go back further than when that particular act was put in place.
American greed.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Presumably Americans sold the land for big bucks - Americas greed is not China’s fault
ASLAN · 26-30, M
You sell they buy, simple as that 🤷‍♂️
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
@ASLAN That's an awfully dangerous way to profit, and one not worth losing our safety
ASLAN · 26-30, M
Remember palastine?
That's how they lost their country 🤷‍♂️.
daydeeo · 61-69, M

Terrible reasoning here. Allow me to tell a few things and then after thinking about it perhaps you'll figure out why I'm saying so.

Physically and factually. The island of Greenland is part of North America.

Goepolitically it was claimed as property by the Kingdom of Denmark.

Kingdom. Monarchy. You may want to look up the meaning of those words and read up on the way they have historically run their governing systems.

Greenland is not so much developed as a modern country per se, and it has always been utilized very little as a population center.

Except for those that don't worry much about colder than average temps, not many have taken any interest in turning it into a good economic or area for societal growth.

Trump isn't the first one that noted that and it's been suggested by other presidents that it would be better for its population and the world if it was added to America's territories.

Especially when totalitarian governments don't generally ask, and Greenland doesn't have much so far as a defensive apparatus to hold onto its sovereignty.

And finally. I believe that it's in both America's, Denmark's, even Europe's and Greenland's best interests in these times of Chinese expansionist conducts for a deal like that to happen.

Unless you're friendly to the idea of a global CCP takeover.

So there you have it. Say what you will about him but you'd be wrong to say Trump is not highly intuitive about land.
On that issue he's the foremost world class genius that saved New York when it was on the ropes.

If you don't know that you don't know much about much.

Now that's what I call setting a table. If you have some sides. Bring em. Can't wait to hear what ya got.
