Did you have to downgrade your dreams in order to make more realistic choices?

revenant · F

@assemblingaknob my situation maybe different to yours..i have to try and be grateful for what I've got i remember some people have less than me but i still feel like ive sacrificed alot for others and can feel stuck at times
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@LadyJ yes I'm trying to practice gratitude myself. I also think having plants and pets to take care of could be really helpful but some of my family members have allergies so not for now! Thank you for sharing!! 🤗
LadyJ · F
@assemblingaknob 🤗🤗🤗
Iwillwait · M
All of them, I'm sure would be encouraged to be downgraded, but God placed them within me. Who am I to mess with that?
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@REMsleep thank you!! This really means a lot to me!
Iwillwait · M
@assemblingaknob I want to thank you for sharing that with me. You mentioned " I'm pathologically socially retarded," and I am guessing what you're seeing as a hindrance, really is a strength, a gift from GOD that you'll learn about through time.

I am socially awkward when it comes to the "A-Typical," human interaction, but I somehow thrive in a teaching situation, as a teacher. I am not a teacher persay by profession, but find myself in a mentorship relationship with other employees. The irony is, I am someone who has always struggled with a learning disability all throughout my school days.

I can't explain how someone who couldn't barely pass through school became so strong in their skills that they would be helping others who are struggling. I believe that struggle when I was young was a gift from GOD, and I am now realizing a different perspective regarding myself.

I hope you continue to keep on pushing forward, and discredit yourself. I believe you are meant for great things. 🙂

@Iwillwait So a blessing in disguise! I'm happy it turned out well for you! Thanks for sharing! It definitely gives me hope! 🍀
I’m done with those. I just take it one day at a time. Any day outside of my hell is a good one.
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@DarkHeaven Similar for me. I'm realizing it's pretty toxic for my mental health to have dreams.
@assemblingaknob Same. 🌸

Sometimes. What if I was smart and always wanted to be an astronaut but for whatever reason I didn't finish my degree and never applied to become an astronaut.
At 35 would it technically be possible for me finish my degree to apply to Space agency?
Yes but highly unlikely. But I happen to know that at least 2 first time Astronauts were in their 40s ( former Navy test pilots)
Should I start my journey to becoming an Astronaut at 35?
Is it a waste of time to begin a long journey to obtaining an advanced degree and physical training?
Some people think that the journey itself is what makes up a life, not the destination.
What if I obtain the engineering or propulsion science degree and then get hired to help design some rocket component?
You never know.

No... I upgrade my life to meet my dream standards
OnePatheticClown · 51-55, M
@assemblingaknob A mildly successful life with what everyone else seems to have, but the chaoes outside and the chaos inside combined...
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@OnePatheticClown What do you mean 'chaos outside'?
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@OnePatheticClown What do you mean 'chaos outside'?
Dan193 · 31-35, M
This saddens me so much.
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@Dan193 I'm sorry. What did you have to sacrifice?
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@assemblingaknob I don't really wanna think about it. 😂 This is my "in denial smily face"
