All of them, I'm sure would be encouraged to be downgraded, but God placed them within me. Who am I to mess with that?

@Iwillwait it just makes me feel that God is mocking me.
Iwillwait · M
@assemblingaknob why, what are your dreams?
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@Iwillwait I wanted a certain career path for myself but in truth it requires a lot of teamwork and human interaction, and superior intellect, while I'm an average learner who does not do well in stressful situations that require quick critical thinking, and am incapable of getting along with people, I'm pathologically socially retarded, and the moment people find that out they start to give me a very hard time at work which worsens my performance and gives them a chance to show superiors that I don't deserve to be there and before long I'm the laughingstock of the office. It has really affected me in the past and I wonder why God would want me to be the freakshow wherever I go? I've settled on working in a laboratory so that there is minimal human interaction and is not stressful/chaotic, but I don't see it giving me any happiness. Also people disregard lab workers as unimportant and inferior to other related science careers. And all my ex-friends who used to bully me are now in those "superior" science careers and it just hurts my pride to know that I'll always be less than my bullies, who always found happiness in my inferior intellect and status.

@assemblingaknob Im socially retarded at times too.
Mostly this is in your own head and the less that you force yourself into flexing your social muscle the more atrophied it will be.
You are still young enough to go for anything. Don't sit and regret. Its all about how bad you want it.

@REMsleep thank you!! This really means a lot to me!

@assemblingaknob I want to thank you for sharing that with me. You mentioned " I'm pathologically socially retarded," and I am guessing what you're seeing as a hindrance, really is a strength, a gift from GOD that you'll learn about through time.

I am socially awkward when it comes to the "A-Typical," human interaction, but I somehow thrive in a teaching situation, as a teacher. I am not a teacher persay by profession, but find myself in a mentorship relationship with other employees. The irony is, I am someone who has always struggled with a learning disability all throughout my school days.

I can't explain how someone who couldn't barely pass through school became so strong in their skills that they would be helping others who are struggling. I believe that struggle when I was young was a gift from GOD, and I am now realizing a different perspective regarding myself.

I hope you continue to keep on pushing forward, and discredit yourself. I believe you are meant for great things. 🙂

@Iwillwait So a blessing in disguise! I'm happy it turned out well for you! Thanks for sharing! It definitely gives me hope! 🍀
