Been there. Took me a while to recover. Know what though? The reason you were able to make that mistake was that you have done your job so well for so long that nobody bothered looking over your shoulder.
It hurts, I know. But don't wallow so deeply in the one error that you forget 29 years of good work. I made that mistake myself, but was blessed with a boss who put it in perspective for me.
Your employer is still better off with you than without you.
Caring so much that you let down others.. (hug) … tells me all I need to know about you. A good hearted soul, you are!! So, I am a stranger, and if I know this much about you and understand.... Then those that has worked with you for 30yrs... knows for sure... A honest mistake was made with no malic involved! Be nice to yourself as you would someone else that made the same mistake with the same knowledge that this is a good person who has let... themselves down and feels so intensely about it.
It's ok Friend. I can tell you're sorry about whatever it was and that's enough. Don't be hard on yourself. We see things as good or bad, and I'm learning that's not reality. Things just 'are' ..it's PEOPLE who put meaning on it. Also my fave author Byron Katie says, "There are no mistakes." 🌷🤗
@Coralmist thank you. I won’t bore you with details, but I talk about the importance of “doing the little things” right and I failed to do so. I make plenty of mistakes, but this one effects others. I just have to deal with it now. Your words did help and will help more later I think. Thank you.
@Vivaci no. It was something I needed to make sure was done before our season. I neglected to do so. Consequences will negatively effect my athletes. I have done this for years and don’t remember why I wouldn’t have this time. No excuse. Everyone is supportive, which helps, but I am trusted and I let them down. I’m worried about them being discouraged.
