Say someone you are close to hangs up on you during a conversation

Because they were angry that you did not agree with their line of thinking. And now it’s been several days. Do you call them back? Do you text them?

In the past I probably would have. Just to not lose the good stuff. But I have to be careful about overlooking the bad stuff. They can’t disagree with me peacefully and, days later, can’t get over themselves? Especially when the issue we disagreed on had nothing to do with them! I’m not putting up with that shit anymore.

I have a close friend who does that. He can't deal with stress or argument of any kind, and I happen to know he grew up in a completely dysfunctional home.

We have done this both ways. When I know I was wrong, I will call him in a few days and apologize.

When he does not hear from me, which happens when I get fed up, he calls me and pretends nothing ever happened.

@4meAndyou yeah.. it’s like that. i have to stop this dysfunction.

@Fallflower You sometimes have to decide whether you want to lose the friend. Dysfunction like that can't be cured.
