I Have Sepsis

I had sepsis 2 years ago .Don't know how I got it but it caused heart failure and damaged nearly all my major organs .I was in a coma for 10 days and in a specialist heart hospital in London for nearly 2 months .I am now being kept alive on medication and my heart is only working at 25 percent .

That does not sound like fun. How are you holding up?

@SW-User No it wasn't and isn't fun .I have problems doing the simplest of jobs .I get out of breath easily .I have a defibrulator implant in my chest my heart is swollen to over 3 times the size its meant to be , cant drive cant walk far , cant work which I hate so life aint that good but I am alive and just got to take each day as it comes .

What is your prognosis? Can they help you? Will you get better?

@Rhodesianman They never found what caused the sepsis? You are on e tough guy, wow. Are there any meds to make the heart smaller?
Rhodesianman · 56-60, M
@SW-User No I have zero life expectancy and if the medication stops working and I cant get a new heart then that's it , so each day is a gift .

@Coralmist Nope nothing I just thought I had an upset stomach and the next thing I remember is waking up in a London Hospital wondering why and how I got there .I have 2 months nearly missing in my life I don't have much recall of it is like a weird dream

@Rhodesianman Well I hope you pull through this. It sounds really rough. Hopefully the antibiotics you are on help.

Yer they do so just taking each day as it comes .It will be 2 years in March so lets hope for many more .

@Rhodesianman I'm so sorry that you could never identify WHAT caused it.. well you are one LUCKY person and probably are more grateful than anyone here- which is a GREAT trait :) Perhaps meditation can help in day to day living... and just only being in 'Now' too. It's the only place/time any of us have or live in.. *hugggg*
