Gespräch mit Pater Alexander
At Mass yesterday I asked our priest when he would be available for a good chat, as I am still thinking about my opportunities, and he has been my sounding board and he has told me about his own vocation.
Father Alexander is older than he looks! He's a very experienced and wise man who has been our priest a while now, but he looks after a number of churches here in the mountains because the church is frequently in need of priests.
I arrived after lunch. It's a lovely walk down to the church, although you can see the spire from some distance, and despite the cooler temperatures this week I wore a summer dress to go sit and talk with him.
We talked about two hours in all, and covered a number of things really. We are meeting again later Wednesday afternoon. He is very supportive and he explains many things I find I want answers to.
