I Am Child-free By Choice

I sometimes worry that because I don't plan to have children it will hinder my chances of ever finding a partner and getting married.

It is absolutely normal for people to want children and I fear I may never find someone because I feel differently.

I don’t want children either. Maybe I will change later in life. I hope not.

@SW-User I had to end of relationship once because even though my gf was pretty sure she didn't want children she wanted to know I would be happy if she changed her mind or got pregnant later on. I couldn't say that. I couldn't honestly say that I would be able to accept the possibility of children later on.

If I was with someone who even said they might be interested later I would have to leave them because I would not be able to accept it.

@onelucasbest it’s good that you know what you want. What makes you feel so strongly about not wanting kids?

@SW-User I'm not sure. I'll ask a psychologist one day maybe. I'm sure there are some deep seated psychological reasons but I won't ask you to unpack all that. I just know that's the way I feel.
