I Am A Christian But Im Not Perfect

None of us are. And if we were, we would have had no need of Christ's wonderful -- indeed perfect -- sacrifice.

That's great. I think more Christians should remember that when they judge others
Where was jesus from. Bethlehem? Was that Jerusalem? Where is that in the modern world? Israel?
@AngieB oh so that is in gaza, palestine? Jesus was Palestinian? I thought he was Jewish?
AngieB · 36-40, F
@Jogadnbyt Is this deliberate trolling or genuine curiosity?

Bethlehem today is in what is part of the Palestinian Territories. When Jesus was born, it was part of the Roman province of Judea.

Are you saying Jesus was Roman? (Sarcasm, in case that wasn't obvious).
@AngieB very genuine, just always wondered where he was actually from. Was a really good answer to be fair

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2nd Corinthians 5:21)

Only one is perfect. And his life was given for you and I.

Alledgedly!

@Harriet03 Alleged sacrifice or alleged perfection? 🤔
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@AngieB Both!

How was it perfect? A lot of people sacrifice their lives....is that perfect too?
AngieB · 36-40, F
@BellindaBallarina Well Christ Himself was (is) perfect: because as fully human as He is, He is also God.

That doesn't make others' sacrifices less worthy or less worth remembering and honouring, of course.

@AngieB He got angry at a fig tree once....
AngieB · 36-40, F
It's too early to try and write a sermon about that lol. But in the context of what Jesus was doing, and looking at some of His parables, it's not as crazy as it first seems.
It's nothing to do with any specific religion , no human being is perfect
AngieB · 36-40, F
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters Of course not. Christians, though, believe that the way to overcome our imperfections (though not, at least in this world, attain perfection ourselves), is through accepting and following Christ.
@AngieB I'm Jewish. Judaism holds that even the most pious person can always potentially sin. That is why there is the concept of Repentance.
The least we can all do (no matter what we believe in!!) is to strive to be good people and do good to one another.
