A single person making 3200.00 a month can’t get an apartment

My brother sailing the house. I have to get out. This is the third application I put in and 3rd time I was denied. I work 40hrs a week I can’t get a place to live. You have to have income 3 1/2 times of the rent. That’s 5350.00 a month and 63,000.00 a year. If I was making that I would buy a house.

3.5 times your rent? What do people who don’t do drugs spend money on?
Jeffrey53 · 51-55, M
@SW-User car insurance, gas, electricity,

@SW-User Fridge magnets, they spend all their spare cash on those. It's an addition!

Answer: Taxes.
SW-User
@Heartlander People who do drugs pay taxes. What do you mean?
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I'm pretty sure he means any taxes are too many taxes. @SW-User I have generally stopped accepting people that mention high taxes are doing so with a good faith argument behind them.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@SW-User After paying a third for rent or housing, they/we use the the rest to pay taxes: Income taxes, earning taxes, payroll taxes, sales taxes, personal property taxes, excise taxes, taxes on the phone bills, taxes on the electricity bills, more taxes at the fuel pump, on the next car that you rent, and the next hotel room, plus a few dozen more taxes that are buried in the price of everything we spend money on.

With $3,200 month income, 20 to 25% of that goes to pay taxes.

Not really. It's like we need water to sustain life, but too much water can drown us :)
SW-User
@Heartlander People who do drugs do all that too. I don’t think you really understand the question.

???

You asked:
What do people who don’t do drugs spend money on?
I don't do drugs and my/our biggest expense is taxes.
SW-User
@Heartlander Right. You don’t understand the subtext. It’s asking what they spend money on that drug users don’t. I never thought I’d have to explain this to some one who has been communicating with human beings for 80 years.

@SW-User

:) You added the part about
... that drug users don’t
after you first asked the question.

I don't know how much drug users pay for their drugs, but I would think that someone who eared $3,200 a month and pays $1,500 a month in rent, and pays $800 a month in assorted taxes, and after paying for their drugs they would have less than zero left over to pay for anything else, and maybe not enough to even pay all their taxes.
SW-User
@Heartlander That’s the subtext.🤦🏻‍♀️
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@SW-User :) I wasn't wearing my hearing aid, did you whisper that part?
SW-User
@Heartlander Did you have a hard time in English class?
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@SW-User

A+

But that was long, long ago; when questions were asked for the purpose of seeking answers. I even remember one of my English teachers saying that we should only ask questions to obtain information or solicit answers. One of the students popped up their hand and with a smirk asked "REALLY???". Everyone laughed.

@Heartlander I called them to see how much I need. They said I have to make 3700.00 a month. I make 3339.87 I was being honest. I should of gave them 3 of my better checks. One pay check I can have 39 hours the other one could have over 40 hrs. Sometimes I get 3 checks a month They complaining about 400.00 extra a month.

@Jeffrey53 I don't know where you live, but in this area (Kansas City) there appears to be in an apartment building frenzy, with more in more new construction apartment complexes everywhere. A quick Zillow peek shows 250+ in the $600-$1,000 price bracket, 370+ in the $400-$800 range. Some in pretty hot downtown areas. I think this is typical through the heartlands from border to border.

My suspicion is that prices will come down even lower as supply outstrips demand.
Jeffrey53 · 51-55, M
@Heartlander I look for the cheapest, I don't make enough for 1400-1500 a month the rest is between 1700 and 2100 a month don't bother filling application for those
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Jeffrey53 :) maybe our building boom is in anticipation of people abandoning California and coming here where housing costs are a lot lower.
