I Am Not Perfect

This morning I decided to stop and get breakfast at McDonalds on my way in, which I rarely do. I ordered my meal, and when I got to the drive through window, the cashier told me that the person in front of me paid for me.

I'm not in a position of need, and I don't think that, sitting in my truck, I give the perception that I am in need. This person did what he did out of kindness. It turned my mood completely. The aggravation of fighting traffic the last half hour or so washed away.

I remembered that I did something similar several months ago, and although I'm sure that man, who I overheard telling our waitress that he couldn't afford to pay for his meal, would be happy to learn that someone else picked up his check. The thing is, it probably made me feel even better to anonymously help someone at a time of need. We've all been there. How can I be angry or bitter today when, along with my breakfast, I was also delivered a little perspective? Not possible. Thank you, stranger.
