I Am Writing a Novel

My novels seem to be taking forever to complete.
I usually feel so mentally exhausted from work, and my weekends are often packed with activities and family visits, that I rarely feel like writing anymore :/
And when I do have time, then I have no inspiration ;p
*Sigh* combining work with hobbies can be difficult.

I started writing one 2 weeks ago and surprised how far I have completed so far.
I am writing organically so it feels like a more creative process.

I totally understand. I got sidetracked on one book to start another that was in my mind....
I think the key is just to write something even if it is not the one you are working on. Maybe a short story just to keep you in ther habit of writing and to keep your creativity alive

@Jlhzfromep Thanks for sharing the idea. I also have a new idea in mind to start another book, but it seemed kind of wrong to start writing when I'm not even completing the one I'm working on. Perhaps I should just start writing it and see where it gets me ^^

@kimmy159 yes I think you should write no mater what story you are working on. The new short story I started developed in a way that would actually fit into the novel I am writing....it was definitly not intended but who knows where our imaginations may go next

My first novel took me seven years to finish the first draft. My second took two months for the first draft, but then 15+ years for the next four.

For most of us, it's a marathon, not a sprint.

@kimmy159 but I will eat the cookies for u so u wont have to worry about taking the responsibility of eating them u properly have to make them though XD

@XDHyperGirlXD1 I never really occupy myself with baking cookies if I can just buy my favourite ones in the supermarket and they're pretty cheap too (the regular ones with chocolate pieces in them ;p)
