I Want to Get Married

How can the thought of getting married be such a driving goal in my life and terrify me so much at the same time. I want to find someone and get married but I see so many people dive into it so quickly and so many divorces. Couples that were so loving toward each other fall apart and have such extreme hatred for each other. Dads that don't get to see their kids but every other week.

I want to get married very much, having someone I can support, someone who supports me. Someone there for you to help you through the trying times. I know things aren't always going to be perfect but if I find someone that I want to get married to. I hope they put as much effort into it as I do and I hope it lasts.

I want a family, I don't want to be a child support dad. I want to be there 100% for my wife and kids. I never want to have to refer to someone as my ex-wife.

The problem is people really think they love one another and really don't know the true meaning of love. Love is a lot deeper than words or an emotion, it requires a transformation of the heart to love a mate unconditionally to commit to for a lifetime....for many, they just tolerate each another due to vows that they believe are spiritual and laden with fear or for the childrens' sake. We've been conditioned to have expectations and conform to societal views about marriage, but one must truly love him- or herself before he/she can love another. We evolve over time and have a tendency to get married before we discover self-realization. With this being said, it prompts us to look for someone to fill the void or emptiness, instead of being content with being alone, to fill this hollowness within ourselves. At this point, then we are able to determine whether or not we are compatible with someone. Relationships shouldn't be based on power struggles, competition, or who's right or wrong; it should be based on how much we love one another to understand that there is more than one way to do anything.

You'd better get moving, then. If you wait too much longer, you'll be a senior citizen with kids in school!
