Becoming agoraphobic

I used to be pretty social but I've really enjoyed my alone time more and more. I'm just worried I let it get too bad so now I have trouble interacting at all. Every time I leave my house I've gotten such bad anxiety, I feel like I'm starting to hate people.

Same. Although I wasn't social before either. Today I went to the dentist and I couldn't wait to get back home... It felt like being "out" was exposing myself to unnecessary risks. But I also feel the need of human interaction, so it's a lose-lose situation...

@drymer I know what you mean. I worry about missing out when I'm in, but when i go out I worry about being out and vulnerable. Lose-lose indeed

I have chronic anxiety so I feel your pain

So long as you have people you can talk to or hang out with I think it's fine, even if it's not that often. It's easy to get comfortable being alone with your hobbies but don't become isolated from the world

I was diagnosed with agoraphobia in 2014. It was a nightmare and with therapy I was able to re-enter society and stop being so terrified of anything unfamiliar.

What is the reason for it? What triggered you to do this? You need psychotherapy and CBT.(cognitive behavioral therapy).

I used to have agoraphobia. Make a point to spend time outside while practicing staying calm.
What did the angorians ever do? 🤷‍♂️
