Why do human beings treat each other this way?

I am almost 43 years old and I still don't get it. I mean, it's almost 2021. It's been major problem in our society that should slowly be getting better, not worse.

[image deleted] it’s very sad, people are brainwashed.
@Fairydust Therein lays the mystery of what Jesus was talking about...

I've come to believe it is because it is so ingrained in our society.

I read a story on the BBC news site the other day about a female black barrister arriving at a new court building. 3 times in the first few minutes she was treated by employees there as a defendant automatically. There in lies the problem it is institutionalised systememic racism.

And it is so ingrained we can't see it. I'm white middle aged guy. If I suggest to my friends we're all instantly privileged they round on me about their upbringing, how they have worked to get here etc etc etc. All true but our starting line is a lot further forward than anyone of colour but they don't see their attitudes are themselves perpetuating ongoing racism.

Until more realise those issues we're doomed to repeat the same behaviours as now.
Take away the laws of society to see what ppl are truely capable of..

I’ve seen ppl who I thought were golden, be horrible ppl in the absence of consequences
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Absolutely agree...

New definitions of happiness and expectations from life.

"Previously, Things were used and People were loved, But now, Things are being loved and People are being used."
People have always been problematic, people are animals and we generally have two sides, some people are very nasty, some people are very nice, we all have the animal part of our brain and the civilized part which some people have more of or different aspects of even people have different perspectives on what civilized behavior means, some do not care but at the end of the day its not worth worrying about, we need to just focus on what we can

Every other couple I see is interracial.

Where I work, it is a pretty even mix of black, white and Hispanic. So far for managers, there have been black, white, and Hispanic men and women.
There are even a few LGBT folks.

I think people who are just trying to make an honest, quiet living are not so wrapped up in someone else's race. Usually it is those who have nothing else going on who decide to make a big deal out of things. The ones who want to blame everyone else for their own lack of effort have excuses.

This nation has had a black president.

The ones who succeed work to make thing happen.

Remember this nasty truth -

Winners make things happen.
Losers *let* things happen.

@CestManan Good comments. I work in an environment where it is a little like the United Nations. We have all races working there, yet to my best knowledge everyone there is colour blind; people are judged only on how well they do their job, not by the colour of their skin

@novaguy2u Yes, in a work place, we are all there for one main reason - to make a paycheck.
People are becoming more and more morally and ethically corrupt...
Is it getting worse or is the definition/use of the word expanding?
@Tinkles Like I said, it's my view. If you have an issue with that, get off my post and don't bother coming back.
@latinbutterfly I don't have an issue with it, your view is fine. Just not what I was hoping for in the conversation
@Tinkles Well I am sorry, but people don't always say what you want to hear 🤷‍♀️.
I don't get it myself. I'm mixed race. My ancestors come from half the planet, like literally. So, I have no frame of reference to understand why this issue exists, I just acknowledge that it does and try to find ways to mitigate it and change it.

now if you don't like an action of a certain race
that's now also racism

yes the word seem to be expanding as minds narrow

I'm a firm believer in that we will all get what we deserve in the end soo with that being said, fuck em all

TBH I don't think bout it. Just help where I can.
I especially feel bad for my parents because they see things regressing and fully remember the “bad old days”.
