I Am Sensitive to Criticism

I've never been able to take it well. To me, it's always like a real insult and it genuinely hurts me. Even constructive, compassionate criticism is something I take the wrong way or make a big deal out of it.

I hope one day I'll be able to deal with it. I'm not holding much hope though.

@electropura: if someone can control your emotions with simple words than you are allowing yourself to be controlled. always be aware of what they seek to gain or achieve through what they are saying to you, even if its a simple "your dumb"

@xSharp: Yup, true. But I know this. Even now I feel ultra sensitive, like I'm wrong to feel this way. Which I know I am, but I feel more stupid for opening up.

@electropura: all you need to do is be aware of your emotions as they occur and ask yourself if there is any logical reason for you to feel this way in any given situation. you will find there is not.

@xSharp: Yes, there are logical reasons for it.

@electropura: give me one.. your a virgo are you not? lol
electropura · 31-35, M
@xSharp: Nope, I'm not.

@electropura: i went by your profile tag line, bad guess.

any way what is a logical reason for your sensitivity?
electropura · 31-35, M
@xSharp: Years of rejection.

@electropura: in psychology that is called learned failure resulting in the loss of the willingness to even try, i think it was Einstein who once said that he had not failed, he simply discovered a thousand ways that do not work.

be aware of how your human brain reacts and you can better control it rather than allow it to control you.

@xSharp: I've spent years trying. This is my reward.

@electropura: what would you have stood to gain had you succeeded? do you really require what you seek? think of ways to improve your situation right now, happiness is a choice not a destination.

@xSharp: Friends, the lost years. They're gone now.

@electropura: dwell in the future and the past and you will miss the present, what happens now shapes your future as well as what you future past will look like
