I Am a Parent

It has been about 2 months since I have seen my children, I was supposed to have them this weekend. I cannot leave my wife alone for the 4 hours it takes to get my children from their mother and back home again. My wife has difficulties going for drives due to her disease. My ex wife will not bring the children to me and she won't allow anyone else to pick them up on my behalf. My wife doesn't feel comfortable with anyone else taking care of her with me away that long. I miss my children. It is just one more thing to make my life more miserable.

I don't think your current wife is being very fair to be honest. Effectively asking you to choose between taking care of her or picking your kids up because she doesn't feel comfortable with someone else for a couple of hours is really wrong.

@WelshLovely I don't think it is fair either. But I can't really tell that to her.

@gmatthewb Why not? If you don't talk to her about it you're just going to end up resenting her and that will be worse than a conversation about it now.

@WelshLovely She has things bad enough as it is. It is hard enough to keep her from crying all the time now. I don't want to be the cause of her feeling even worse about herself. Even if it means seeing my children.

In his wife’s defense, she has very little time left with her husband and the kids have the rest of their lives. He’s doing the right thing in my opinion.@WelshLovely
