@TurtlePink My father would go out and get drunk and come home and step up from the den into the kitchen and one night my sister left a kitchen cabinet door open and when he was stepping up he hit the corner of the door on his head and it made a mark on it. We heard his cussing and he made us get up and told us to never leave that door open again. So the next time he went off to get drunk my older sister went to the kitchen and opened the cabinet door and he came home drunk again & hit his head again. We heard him yelling and scattered like rats and me & my younger sister slid under our bed and got to the middle where he wouldn’t find us 😂 It was scary there for awhile.

@SW-User This crow would eat corn or cornbread right away. If I gave him a slice of wheat bread he’d take it and fly over to a spot in the yard and lay it down and find a leaf, put the oak leaf on the bread and then find a rock and put the rock on top of the leaf to keep it from flying away. I guess saving the bread for in case he didnt’ find anything better to eat.

@adorbz One time at lunch break at work (in the dorm area of a university) I was sitting in the break room and my lead came in and told me that there was a yellow bird in a tree and since I liked birds maybe I would try to catch it. I went out there and it was a yellow parakeet sitting on a branch of a crape myrtle tree (there was a row of them next to the building). My friend and the lead stood and was watching. I told them to back up so not to scare the bird. They decided to go inside and within 5 minutes caught it and brought it inside.

I had a walking on hot coals phase,I got pretty into it.
One night we were sitting around a campfire in a clearing next to Hippie Chris' teepee,
just passing the pipe and BS-ing,and he says-"hey guys,we should walk on fire tonight"
Everyone laughed but I'm getting psyched and going'fuck yeah-if you go first I am all in!'
So he and I raked a path of burning embers about 20 feet long,did our little stoner warrior incantations and sure enough strode calmly across hot coals. IT WAS AWESOME.
I got pretty fired up back in town about how this is my new thing and anyone can do it,and we should have a massive bonfire friday night, and by the end of summer many in our circle had taken the leap,so to speak and I was like the chief firewalker cheerleader and it did my self esteem and ego good.Too good,for as in many things which one takes into egocentric areas you can tend to showboat and get over confident.
I was definitely showing off the night Me and Tim brought a group of college girls on a road trip up to the abandoned cabin miles from the nearest houses with a trusty jug of vodka,stars in abundance,drunken songs,poems and of course a substantial bonfire and my eventual empowerment peptalk and preparing of the massive bed of super hot coals which I was first to stroll calmly across to the delight and amusement of the girls I was actually impressing for a change-until I took a bow,drunkenly turned back to walk back across the primordial glowing heap again-tah daaah!-and got a hot coal somehow stuck between my toes.Which burned the fuck out of them,blistered and sizzling away.I could have easily pissed off some spirits.Or just been that drunk guy,playing with fire.
But the night ended well because I got down with a cute blonde under the moonlight.
And she and all her friends did their first firewalk that night and had a lot of laughs and adventure and I limped for a while but it was not a very big deal,luckily.
Heck,I'm ready to do it again. Any fool can.

@SW-User I had a girlfriend years ago that lived in a different city and I'd go see her after work.. I'd stay until around 3 am and then drive home which took a bit over an hour and one time I think I actually dozed off for about 6 minutes on the highway haha. Luckily there were zero other drivers around but yeah it was terrifying when I looked at the clock and was like waaait a minute..was I abducted????

@TurtlePink Me and my sister climbed into my mother’s cedar chest and got locked inside. My mom was asleep on the couch and didn’t wake up when we were yelling for help. It was getting hot inside and finally we pushed and kicked till we broke the lock and got out. I think I was about 3 years old.

@SW-User after my sister got bit by a copperhead when we were burning brush piles someone gave her a rubber snake and she’d leave it on the porch deck. It would startle me every time I saw it and everyone else too. So one day my uncle picked it up and flung it up on the little roof over the front door. Never thought anything about it till my Frisbee flew up there & I had to get a ladder to get it off. I climbed up and saw that snake and almost fell off the ladder.

@adorbz It was funny. 🤓 I tried an experiment at a petting farm once. I figured that goats can be something like dogs. You know how you can teach your dog to dance and turn around for a treat? I bet myself that I could get a dairy goat to behave that way, and I did. I massaged her shoulders, and we ended up with our faces together and her front legs over my shoulders in a slow dance. It was cute.
