I Wonder If We All Expect Too Much From Relationships

What's "acceptable" when it comes to asking your partner to do things for you?

I have chronic illnesses which make it really hard for me to even function sometimes, and right now we are temporarily living with my fiance's parents, which has completely stressed me out (exacerbating my illnesses). I also have severe allergies, and despite knowing this, my future mother-in-law is a heavy smoker inside the house we all share. It's her house, so I keep my mouth shut, but the smoking has irritated my sinuses to the point where I have nosebleeds every day.

So I often ask my fiance to go to the kitchen and get my meals for me so that I dont have to go in there myself and be around the smoke. Sometimes I feel like he hates doing that for me. I dont know if I'm being too demanding or if he's not being supportive enough.

I dont want to be one of those spoiled nagging wives who hen-pecks her husband so he waits on her hand and foot. But I also don't feel well when I have to be around MIL's smoke.

Meet him half way in understanding. He needs to be more empathetic and remember that no one likes to be a gopher.
