When I was growing up, my younger brother who was 6 at the time proclaimed at dinner "I'm gay!" not understanding what it meant.

My family burst out laughing. My brother went on saying the phrase "I'm gay" for weeks, thinking it hilarious. Even after we had explained to him what being gay actually meant, he still didn't get it. I think he picked up the phrase after we had been watching the show 'The Nanny' and the word 'gay' had been tossed around in a few of the episodes we had watched. 😂

While eating supper one evening, my younger cousin suddenly proclaimed "We are all homosexuals!"... that made his father choke on his food and made me burst out laughing, food spraying out of my mouth.

His dad asked "do you know what a homosexual is?" and he replied "Yes... its kinda like ape people. That's where we came from."

Me: "I think you mean homosapiens" 🤣
