I'm originally from NY too and I live in NH. I have to travel far and wide to get a decent meal that I would have gotten just walking down the block before. I still haven't found a decent Chinese restaurant here. Bleah. It's not you, it's the rest of America's palate! 😂

Cheaper ingredients and cheaper oils, when they do a lot of that it ruins the food, also ethnic food needs to be cooked by the ethnicity of people who are proficient in it. I have had great meals at a Persian restaurant and later at a favorite Indian restaurant and they both are ruined because their original cooks retired and they replaced them with other people who have no expertise in their ethnic food preparation. Sucks

My dad lives just outside the major tourist zone of Orlando. All the food there is franchise restaurants. The locally owned places are average to okay for the most part, with the exception of one pizza place that makes a really good pizza.

In that area, I think they just don't try because the customers are either retired or tourists, and neither group are really known for their passion for good food. They're just happy to eat cheap.

i am from Arkansas and used to have a house in FL and the food is all bland in FL unless you are in a top restaurant i think it is because of all the old people there who cant take spice

NY is a world centre.. Plus there is a broader mix of migrant food types built into the tradition of the city. I am not saying Florida doesnt have that. But not as much..😷

I just moved to Florida from Southern California. I have not found much in the way of great food either. I’m actually learning to cook because of it LOL
