Honestly all the time. Human beings irritate the living shit out of me but I love animals and they can sense it. Today in the park these two squirrels kept coming close to me even though I had no food. Just were being friendly I guess. Same thing happens with birds a lot. I also see a lot of rare birds that will come up to me as well. Those ones I wouldn't mind feeding but it can be dangerous to give bread. The most interesting of all these was this huge House Sparrow that hung out with me at McDonald's. The tiny version of these are all over NY, but this one was very unique and I'm grateful that it was so comfortable around me.

@LavenderTown That is neat. I know what you mean about birds. Where I walk in the evening, when I hear the cardinals make their "tick" sound, I snap my fingers a few times and usually one or two come out of hiding and land a few feet from the bench I like to sit on. It is as though they recognize me or recognize I am trying to communicate with them when I snap my fingers.
