@ProfessorPlum77 Neighbor. We had a few last year . We shot one and the state trapped a couple. Every couple of years they pop up

@ProfessorPlum77 1100 contiguous acres that has the main house , the lake, and the good hunting . Then other parcels around it thst we have added over the years . Almost 4000 acres total .

@TexChik Wow! That keeps a person busy, I imagine! (I almost married a lady that lived northwest of San Antonio.)

@ProfessorPlum77 pretty country. We don’t live out there… but it’s still a lot of work ..I have a farmer that takes care of the farm business and a Cowboy that sees after our cattle .

@TexChik Very nice. How often do you visit the property?

@ProfessorPlum77 about every 6 -8 weeks . We spend the holidays there , I love to hunt and ride my horses .

@TexChik How far away are you from the place?

@ProfessorPlum77 350. 55 mins by plane , 7 hours by truck

@TexChik That is quite a drive. If you fly there, do have have spare vehicles on the property or do you get a rental car after you arrive?

@ProfessorPlum77 we land at the farm , yes we have a truck in the hangar

@ProfessorPlum77 not really we used to land about 20 miles away and always wanted to put in a runway and hangar out there . We finally did it

@ProfessorPlum77 yep. The county needed a second "emergency" air field and we were able to apply for and get partial funding for that project. We got some additional funding from my hubby's company and we also paid a portion of it. Small jet and all propeller driven air craft can land there.

@TexChik Wow! And I guess there is a government funded roadway so the planes and jets can access it.

@ProfessorPlum77 They try to have an emergency air field in every county, ours didnt have one, they didnt have the land

@ProfessorPlum77 yep and air craft have emergencies in all of them

@TexChik I like to read and reread Robert Caro's series of biographies of Lyndon Johnson. I have learned a lot of Texas history just from that series.
