I Have Adhd

So I have been diagnosed with ADHD since I was 4 years old I never really agreed with my diagnosis because I was only four years old when given the test to see if I had ADHD now since kindergarten I've had every single ADHD medication you could think of. I felt like a complete guinea pig to the system. I feel as though the pills really did help me though but at the same time there were a lot of negatives that came along with it I'm not sure if I want to get back on my medication or not. sometimes I really wish I was on it so I could think more clearly but my boyfriend doesn't like me on my medication he says it makes me become a different person and I'm just not as fun to be around I don't know if I should continue taking my medicine because I feel like it makes me feel like a person that can think more clearly. Or if my boyfriend is right and i should continue to be off of them. I havent taken my adhd pills in two years and I've really considered going back to it but my withdrawls were so intense part of me is like why bother.. Idk i just wanted to speak my thoughts...

I know how you feel I have ADHD also and social anxiety and took medicine for it mainly Zoloft but quit because I felt like it was making everything worse anyways I feel like I'm doing better but I'm trying my best to try to control it without medication it's just going to take awhile to get better you'll find something that works best for you sometimes it just takes time

Often ADHD symptoms are caused by food intolerances. You may react to dairy or some vegetables.. Generally the foods that you most love are the culprits.
Exercise can also help with the symptoms.

I would speak to a doctor that cares about your welfare. Then you can at least make an informed decision. It seems you lack information and your health isn’t for your boyfriend’s convenience.
What is the difference in your personality on and off the meds?

And dont let your bf dictate your medication...but take what he says into account when making your decision

I don’t blame you for being apprehensive. Medicine makes me mopey and not like myself and the withdrawals are horrible.
Depends on the person you want to be. Don't take them for him. Take them or not for you.

I think that is overly-diagnosed these days.

take them when you need to focus and concentrate, like in school. but on the days you don't need it don't take them. They aren't a medication that needs to build up to work.

I do too. I need to go back on my medicine.

ADHD is quite a lot a scam to make money.

I whole heartedly believe " learning disabilities" are more accurately " teaching disabilities".
