I Was Fired

I was fired for calling out too many times I’m pregnant and deal with morning sickness. Isn’t that against the law

In the US if you have an approved FMLA qualifying condition, you cannot be fired for missing work because of the condition. But your company has to offer it and you have to provide the documentation. If they said you were fired because you were pregnant that's a problem. If they said you were fired for absences, they can do that unless you have FMLA. Employers can fire at will employees without cause.
From Community Baby Center:

t depends, if you are unable to do your job or you call in too often, there is a possability you can lose your job. You are an employee and you don't get special privelages just because your pregnant.

If, however, your OB takes you out of work or orders some sort of work restrictions, that's another story. Usually pregnancy complications fall under FMLA or some other sort of protection for you. And if given work restrictions, they must be met if possible.
I understand. They can't usially fire you for being or getting pregnant but they can for poor job performance. Restrictions means things like 'can't lift more than10 pounds' or 'can't work around chemical fumes.'@SW-User

@Mamapolo2016 I geuss I’ll accept it and move on
Do apply for unemployment. If you meet the hours worked requirements you may wualify. Then when your morning sickness passes, you can move on.

In future, if you have something that may prevent you from fulfilling your employer's requirements, and the reason is illness, talk
to your doctor and your boss and try to find an acceptable compromise. "I get sick in the morning - can I work evenings?" Normally the cause for a reasonable boss punishing you for such things is - whether you are sick or not, the customers have to be served, and if you are scheduled and don't report for work, the operation suffers.[@ya girl dakota]

I don’t think you can be fired because you are pregnant but you can be fired for not showing up. Regardless if you call in or not.

Also there are many states where employers can fire you without reason.

maybe that's why women think men make more. They go to WORK

@MarineBob you seem to hate women is there something you need to tell us
MarineBob · 56-60, M
I love them, except for the ones who claim they are speaking for all women, the women in my company normally makes more than the guys but they don't have to go meet their buddies and be hung over the next day
@MarineBob I love men too, except for the ones who use a few examples to leap to a conclusion about ALL women. Where do you think we learned it?

Apply for unemployment. You'll definitely get it. Two years of no work!

Why should it be? The owners of a company should have the right to hire or fire anyone they choose. It is after all their company and their goal is to have a successful company that is profitable. Not knowing a lot more details of your situation between yourself and the men and women running the company you could be more of a liability to the company than you realize by not being there.

I would think it would be. You can’t be fired for medical issues. They have the right to put you on leave to resolve it.
She wasn't fired for medical issues. She was fired for not going to work due to illness she hadn't documented as a medical issue.

An agreeable compromise might have been reached through discussion but that didn't happen. @Muthafukajones
Muthafukajones · 46-50, M
That makes it harder. It should have some redress available.@Mamapolo2016
Maybe unemployment.

There are legitimate reasons for frequent calloffs, but the employer still needs to run their business, and the employee needs to document with doctors' statements, etc. At the very least a sit-down talk with the boss.

Morning sickness? Request to be scheduled evening shift. @Muthafukajones
The short answer is no it isn't illegal.

That doesn’t sound right....
