I Am An Atheist

So did you hear about the secretary of the Atheists association of Kenya? He had to quit after he became a Christian. I was once a proud atheist. Then reality hit and I came to realize the nonsense that is atheism is not capable of explaining anything. Atheism is a complete intellectual wasteland. Have fun being foolish.

This is my biggest complaint about atheists. Believe what you want but leave me alone.

Atheists has a propensity to proselytize.

And I agree with you.

In my life religion has been the source of some of the most vicious and inhumane treatment of others. From money to shenanigans to normalized sexual abuse to what I would call the violence of guilt and manipulation. That isn’t a blanket indictment. If the shoe fits people should wear it. Otherwise— nothing here.

I have come to believe that the wall between church and state needs to be made of kryptonite. And that religion should have no exalted or protected status in society beyond one’s right to assemble. It should be as subject to scrutiny, criticism and social comment as anything else in a pluralistic modern society.

Likewise! Even I don't like folks who enforce their religious beliefs on others. I don't like spiritual educators either! However, I keep this to myself.

I respect all religions but believe in none. I just believe in the existance of God (the divine light)!

One should keep his/her belief to himself/herself. It's completely one's choice which religion, faith or belief the he/she would embrace. Simple!🙂

Why are you an atheist, and not an agnostic?

I feel the same, really. The proselytizing gets to me. And here I wish people would keep it in specific groups, so those who aren’t interested can avoid it. I’ve muted a few people who feel the need to hold Bible class in the Miscellaneous and Community categories. You posted this in the group that indicates your point of view so that anyone who chooses to read it knows right away where you’re coming from, which should be respected.

If you don't beleive in God then that's that. People really shouldn't force their beliefs on you though because that's just not right.

I'm much the same. If people want to believe in fairy tales and magical men-in-the-sky it's fine by me. I just don't like them trying to force their delusions onto me or deceiving others, especially children.

So long as they leave me alone I don't care what bronze age b.s. they follow. Those with shopping mall sized churches and political involvement are another story.

Just like when godbots come on here and spew their religious crap by quoting the buybull annoys me...as an Atheist, I'm annoyed at you for doing the exact same thing here. Why do you feel you have to broadcast it? How is this any different than the people you speak of? Could this not be labeled as "shoving it down people's throats?"...the very thing we hate when religious people do it? Are you 19 Rob?

I guess I looked silly for saying my opinion and got blocked I think . Sorry if I offended anyone else . But I'll stay with my opinion at least for now.
