I Have Random Thoughts

It's been a very rough last few days. My beautiful Australian Shepherd dog Diva was bitten by a tick and became infected with Lyme disease. She had to be euthanized yesterday because the paralysis was rampant throughout her body and moving into her throat. This horrendous disease afflicts many canines and is deadly to approxinsyely 3-5% of their population.

Thanks to the environmental activists, the city no longer sprays pesticides in the area so the tick numbers are increasing and are becoming an epidemic. I guess they don't realize how severe the problem actually is in regards to animals and humans..

I'm going to miss our little girl. She was my adorable fur baby and it seems strange not to have her sweet gentle and exuberant presence here today.

Hugs to you. So sorry.
@Thingschange4444 You're very welcome, seems like many countries in this world are affected by some sort of problem these days.

@sensualbeauty1 So true. War. Disease. Greed. Racial/ religious tension. It's a mad world for sure hey.
@Thingschange4444 Avarice, greed, politics, religious contention, war, disease, famine and the list goes on and on. Crazy mixed up world, makes one wonder how it's going to be in another 50 to 100 years. 🤔

That's terrible,I have an Australian Shepherd named Trigger,and I don't know what I would do if something happened to my bud.
@nate2244 She was a wonderful loyal, beautiful member of the family. It's been a very difficult week to say the least. Thank you, I hope you'll have many good years yet with Trigger.

Yes,and probably very intelligent too.They are good dogs.Thank you
@nate2244 They're really not enough adjectives to describe one's beloved pet. Australian Shepherds are well known for their intelligence. Her intellect shone through those soft brown eyes. You're welcome.

So so sorry to hear this. The loss of a pet is a difficult things. Thoughts and prayers to you.
@ToyMan Thanks so much my friend, it's been a horrendous week. I'm so glad she's no longer in any pain.

@sensualbeauty1 At this point it's all we can do. Be thankful that they're not in pain and remember them fondly. 🤗
@ToyMan Oh that's so true, you cannot hold onto them when a disease is taking over so very rapidly and causing them such pain. She'll never be forgotten my lil Aussie girl.

Oh my gosh.... I'm so deeply sorry 😕
@SW-User I know, she was only 5 years old, just basically a baby.😕

@sensualbeauty1 that's too young
@SW-User Yes it she was far too young. Just wish she could have been saved.
😢 That's so sad, and the pesticide thing is such a striking example of unforeseen consequences. I hope you will keep many good memories of her.
@CinnamonWorlds Thank you so much, thankfully I've got many pictures of her and hopefully will retain all those great memories of what a darling lil dog she was.

Oh wow! I did not think Lymne affected animals! So sorry for your loss.
@mrbuddhawannabe Yes unfortunately both humans and animals, it's usually transmitted through infected deer ticks.
mrbuddhawannabe · 56-60, M
@sensualbeauty1 I have a couple of friends who had been affected by Lymne.
@mrbuddhawannabe The symptoms are very difficult to detect because they're very similar to MS. A blood test after a person is bitten by a tick, should be done within 72 hours to determine if the tick did indeed carry the disease.

@sensualbeauty1 yeah vaccines and collars I know of but they tend to kill the tick after damage is done
@SW-User That's very true.
