Historical monuments? They are specific statues honoring men who were traitors to our country. They rebelled against our government. Their statues were placed by white citizens who, refused to accept the defeat, opposed integration, and were intent on intimidating southern blacks.

The history, along with the battlefields and monuments, remain.

@SW-User I know of one put in about 1978 specifically to do what you said regarding intimidating Black people. So it's not like they have a deep historical side to them.
