Historical monuments? They are specific statues honoring men who were traitors to our country. They rebelled against our government. Their statues were placed by white citizens who, refused to accept the defeat, opposed integration, and were intent on intimidating southern blacks.
The history, along with the battlefields and monuments, remain.

@Bushmanoz It's all about keeping people oppressed and toeing the line.

"Traitors to our country." That is a line I have only heard, recently. During the Revolution George III would have been their hero. PS. There is a statue to an actual traitor to the country because of his bravery at the Battle of Saratoga.

@ProfessorPlum77 lol, are you talking about the innocuous boot monument that doesn't mention Arnold's name or have his likeness anywhere on it? He did help win that battle for the Americans against the British.
After the revolution, New Yorkers pulled down the statue of King George III.

I do worry about that. I'm fearful if Trump gets reelected and doesn't figure out a way to calm people down, we will have another civil war on our hands.
Maybe. But, our country may be gone before November.
