i've know people pay upwards of 15-20K on a wedding between dress, venue and catering. that's the price of a marital home or can be put by for emergencies. my dream wedding is going to the office, signing the marriage licence and hitting the pub for the night.

i'm not about to spend years of savings on what is essentially a party that lasts one day.

@bugeye That’s what I told my partner. I just want a courtroom wedding and the money that is supposed to be for the wedding will be put down for our future home.
