I Have Never Been In a Relationship

31 and no real relationship. The one guy I was with for a year, it turned out he was living a double life. So... Was he really in love with me? Was I really in love with him?
I've erased that from my life and since then I've been unable to trust men. Been almost 10 years... Wow.

Trust your mind first, then trust your heart.
If our heart controls us we are setting ourselves up for heartache and pain. Our heart wants to believe all people are good and have the best intentions, unfortunately in this day and age we all know that's not true. Use you head, use you experience and your intuition to get to know someone first, don't fall for their charms and empty promises before knowing what kind of person they really are. Once you've made that connection and built a friendship of trust and understanding, then see if there's something your heart can trust.
This is completely ass-backwards from what I want to believe, but it's at least a safer alternative.
But it's not very damned romantic now is it...!!!
You know what, trust in you...there now I'll shut up.
