I Think Arrogance Is Annoying

When you're having a "debate" or discussion w/ someone and then instead of replying with a valid point or argument, they try to correct you spelling. " It's you're not your." Yeah I hate that stuff.

IDK if that even comes from a place of arrogance... well perhaps due to not wanting to admit your wrong I guess. It's a logical fallacy and incredibly unoriginal. To claim a misspelled word automatically makes a whole entire argument invalid.
It's part and parcel of deflecting attention from their faulty argument to your moment of inattention. It's petty and mean-spirited. I love when, as so often happens, they make errors while criticizing mine.

@Harriet03 he thought he was a fekking genius throughout the conversation...then he wrote loose instead of lose. I was delighted by this and reamed him with it😈
Usually I try not to stoop to their level but I admit I could not let 'dumass' pass.

I pointed out that 'dumb' usually came with a B, and he must have agreed, because he Blocked me. @Fernie

Reminds me of what my mother would say when I came up with anything factual that contradicted her, even up into my middle years:

"Comb your hair!"

Or:

"Stand up straight!"

@greenmountaingal I really hate that

@LikeTheSun My mother was beyond infuriating. She specialized in belittling and bullying.

I agree that it's a way of trying to deflect attention away from the fact that you have just made a good point and they don't know how to respond to it. It's also very childish.

This has never happened to me, as I'm a stickler for spelling and grammar (with myself, though not with others).

What has happened to me is that someone has brought up something I did in the past that made them angry, that they had supposedly forgiven me for, and refused to answer the question that I was asking. Then, when I pointed out that the one had nothing to do with the other, they threatened to block me.

Some people just don't fight fair. I've learned to avoid such people, for the most part, though I still have an occasional run-in with some ignorant person.

It's an attempt at deflecting away from the logic behind your argument as well as an attempt to undermine your credibility in general.

When they do that I give them one or two chances to mend their tactic and then kick them in the knees :)

Remembering the rules for your-you're-yours-your's, it's-its, one's-ones-ones', it's-its, who's-whose, etc. can be as difficult to keep track of as the rules of trigonometry.

Its even more annoying when they randomly add...' im playing with my cock right now....'

Yes...really.....
LikeTheSun · 22-25, F
@RubySoo eww I didn't even know that was a thing
RubySoo · 56-60, F

It's a know it all thing which is pretty arrogant imo. I've seen even worse than that. People can be idiots and think spelling makes them smarter
