I Love The Smell Of Napalm In The Morning

I wonder if Kilgore would still think Napalm smells like victory after the Vietnam War? 馃 What does napalm smell like anyway? 馃槙

Gasoline with a hint of styric acid, AKA Styrofoam.
MethDozerM
@UndeadPrivateer That's not real napalm.
UndeadPrivateer31-35, M
@MethDozer It's not branded napalm, but it's still jellied gasoline and will at the very least horribly maim anyone it gets on. Napalm isn't exactly very standardized anymore, there's lots of different gelling agents. All are claimed to have a smell not unlike gasoline with a hint of burning plastic though.
MethDozerM
@UndeadPrivateer For sure it's nasty stuff but it's not actual napalm.

@MethDozer I see you don't understand the meaning of "napalm isn't standardised any more." All it refers to now in the informal term is gellied gasoline, in fact not even always gasoline. Actual Napalm(tm) hasn't been used since the Korean War.

If you wanna get hardcore technical and go by DOW manufactured Napalm(tm) then it smelled like burning crude oil and left a distinctly greasy feel to the air for some time after. 馃し
MethDozerM
@UndeadPrivateer The Anarchist cookbook isn't what they call napalm.
UndeadPrivateer31-35, M
@MethDozer Actually yes, it would be by the modern informal definition. It would be defined as napalm for your entire lifetime even. It's not Napalm(tm), but it's napalm.
MethDozerM
@UndeadPrivateer No, it's a crude improvised replacement.

@MethDozer You're hilarious. It takes some effort to be that thick skulled. I guess pipe rifles aren't firearms, pipe bombs aren't actually bombs and a heavy stick isn't a club.
MethDozerM
@UndeadPrivateer apples and oranges. Naplam, Napalm B, etc. are specific formulations.
UndeadPrivateer31-35, M
@MethDozer I still see you're mixing up Napalm(tm) and napalm. Is a MK-77 not a napalm bomb?
MethDozerM
@UndeadPrivateer Nope. Naplam and Napalm B. She asked about Napalm.

@MethDozer [quote]"We napalmed both those (bridge) approaches," said Col. Randolph Alles in a recent interview. He commanded Marine Air Group 11, based at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, during the war.

@UndeadPrivateer Cool beans.
