I Love My Family

I have a very close relationship with my children. I always taught them from early childhood that they could share anything with me. I guess I was considered a helicopter mom. 😊

My baby is home from college and he'll be starting his Junior year this fall. My baby is 6'1, muscular, plays football and wear dreads he can look a little intimidating but he's such a teddy bear!

He and I were sitting at the dinner table and we were discussing life. He told me he was approached by a man this year and was offered a position to sell drugs for him. He was like mama he showed me so much money and what I could make. He was like being a broke college student it looked great but he said I turned him down and he said you want to know the reason why I did? It was because of you. My child said I know what you went through. You were at every game, practice when I was smaller, every program when we were in school. Late at night sometimes I would see you cry or you praying. He said I never want to be a disappoint to you. I know what you sacrificed. And too I love my freedom. 😂

My heart melted. I cried like the big baby I am! I was so PROUD of my child. Parents they do hear and watch our actions!

When my mind starts to wonder if I were a good enough parent I'll remember this conversation.

U might be proud of ur child n yes u certainly should be. He's a good man. But I say u r paid back for all the sacrifices u ve done , n for the love u ve given him. U should be equally proud about urself . U certainly have given a good gift to our society .. Be proud of ur son n urself mother.

the whole point of being a parent is to raise your child to the best of your ability and so far you dig down deep and try that's all that matters

Yes changing diapers washing clothes preparing lunches for the morning reading bedtime stories if necessary discipline them when needed without beating them I'm not one to hit kids I'm more of a reasonable person when it comes to punishment going to school events and when they get in trouble parents teachers conferences detention ECT.... And I was only 13 or 14 at the time

I applaud you. Your son took you to heart. There will be struggles and because of what you have given him he will always be on top because he will be the man you raised him to be.

@Experienced33: yeah they had a really good program. I still find myself watching football games and love when the season is in. I was really excited my Godson got to play in the Army Bowl earlier this year.
@PEACH4LIFE: Wow...you should be.
PEACH4LIFE · 46-50, F
@Experienced33: yeah it was exciting watching him on television. Although my son's senior year of high school they played live on ESPN2. That was exciting too.

You sound like a spectacular mom :) That must fill you with such pride to have a fine young man like that. It's easy to give into the wrong decision. ☺
