I Love My Family

I have a very close relationship with my children. I always taught them from early childhood that they could share anything with me. I guess I was considered a helicopter mom. 馃槉

My baby is home from college and he'll be starting his Junior year this fall. My baby is 6'1, muscular, plays football and wear dreads he can look a little intimidating but he's such a teddy bear!

He and I were sitting at the dinner table and we were discussing life. He told me he was approached by a man this year and was offered a position to sell drugs for him. He was like mama he showed me so much money and what I could make. He was like being a broke college student it looked great but he said I turned him down and he said you want to know the reason why I did? It was because of you. My child said I know what you went through. You were at every game, practice when I was smaller, every program when we were in school. Late at night sometimes I would see you cry or you praying. He said I never want to be a disappoint to you. I know what you sacrificed. And too I love my freedom. 馃槀

My heart melted. I cried like the big baby I am! I was so PROUD of my child. Parents they do hear and watch our actions!

When my mind starts to wonder if I were a good enough parent I'll remember this conversation.

@Experienced33: yeah both of mine played too. My oldest is in the Air Force but when he comes home all of their friends enjoy a game in our yard. I love it!
@PEACH4LIFE: loved the football program...no BS like the rest of the sports..

@Experienced33: yeah they had a really good program. I still find myself watching football games and love when the season is in. I was really excited my Godson got to play in the Army Bowl earlier this year.
@PEACH4LIFE: Wow...you should be.

@Experienced33: yeah it was exciting watching him on television. Although my son's senior year of high school they played live on ESPN2. That was exciting too.
