I Have Insomnia

I have the type where I wake up too early (4-5 A.M.) and can't return to sleep. I never seem to have a problem falling asleep the first time (unless I'm really stressed about something), but then I'm prone to waking up long before I want to. It doesn't happen all the time, but I get into a patterns of it that are hard to break out of.

Staying up late online probably doesn't help 馃槱

You're still sleeping. Just not rested. Just change things up a bit and dont freak out about waking up early.

@SW-User I've also heard that some people do fine on less than the recommended amount. The nights when this happens I usually get 4-5 hours. I'd rather have 8, but it's almost midnight now and it's not like I'm so tired I can't function.

Waking up early makes me stressed, which makes it harder to sleep...it's a vicious cycle.

@SW-User Yep. Very vicious. My doctor told me as long as I get 4-5hrs, I'll be ok. And, insomnia doesn't kill you, but the side effects might 馃ぃ
My sleep is broken, but I have to remind myself I got some.
