Have you ever had a conversation with someone who talks over you? Not only do they talk over you they get LOUDER when you try to reply?

I've encountered that behaviour countless (many thousands) of times in my life.
I would say it's rare to meet a person who doesn't interrupt within the first 45 seconds of me trying to say something.
It seems to me that few people these days understand the art of conversation.

I won't talk to people like that.

dont you hate that? and guess what? when they interrupt, i keep talking.

80% of my conversations with men are like this.

The passive-aggressive way to handle this situation is when they finally do you let you talk, just sit there silent for a few seconds

Yup. They have a very hard time being louder than I am typically. I don't get loud often, but if I need to, I have a set of lungs on me. 😂

My brother does that but not only that, if you try to sneak a word in he starts talkin faster.

Yes....i just switch off and wait for the noise to stop.While not actually listening.

Yes,sometimes - I usually respond "Let me finish,please".

The third ex used to SCREAM over me. I could not get in a word to tell him he was mistaken or had heard me wrong. He would amp himself up, and get louder and louder until he was bright purple and looked demonic. His entire family were so rude that I could not speak. I would try, they would interrupt me, and then get loud. They were like barn animals.

It's best not to deal with such people

Yes. And I tend to conclude such conversations quickly. If I can’t participate, continuing them makes no sense. 😒
