I Find This Annoying

When you buy a new car and you have to talk to the finance department. It is never fun and always a headache. Too many hoops. We are in the process of buying and my wife is on the phone with them. She is easier to understand than I am and she can get a deal. I have no idea how she does it but she is good at negotiating.

I don't know how often it would work - but years ago my husband wanted a new pickup and he was driving me insane, talking about it non-stop for weeks and weeks. Finally I handed him paper and pencil and told him to spec out exactly what he wanted. Then I called four or five dealers and said, "We're buying this truck tomorrow. Best bid wins."

Got a good deal and almost painless.

@afterlight It made me laugh. One salesman called me and asked, "What kind of numbers are you looking at from other dealers?"

That's the point. YOU figure out the best you can do.

Oh wow so ironic..I'm going through this now. I actually would rather not finance and possibly do cash..but the place I'm looking at online says in order to get the online special price, you have to finance.
