I Love the River

I live high up in the Welsh hills. But from the top of the hill by the farm I can see the river winding into the sea. It is tidal. It can be full of water and flood at high tide. It can be mudflats at low tide. The only sound that comes with the tide is the song of the curlew. It's haunting melody.

i camped for 6 months by the River years ago it was Great did some fishing and made camp fires , yeah the good old days but can't now they built new condos a while ago and tore down a lot of trees and ruined a few animal homes so people could see the river from the condo's plus the cops will come down there now and give you a fine for making a camp fire , yeah that sucks now

Yes it does. It makes me realise how lucky I am to live where I live.

yeah
How lovely. I had the opportunity to purchase a thatched roof cottage in a very similar area. Almost wish I had. Spurred by a movie years ago called 'Waking Ned Divine'

I haven't heard of that movie. But I live in a very special place.
@blodyn: (set in Ireland, but filmed in the Isle of Man.) Ive never been out that way but it sounds breathtaking, haunting even. You're blessed!
