Political divisions themselves do not bother me, as they will always exist.
What does bother me is when those divisions cut through families and end friendships.
I read an article online once, by a Biden supporter when his Trump-supporting family had cut ties with him (I realize that this could have happened the other way around as well.) His point was: we have been through so much over the years, watching our families grow, going to weddings, going to kids' birthday parties, etc...are we really going to let two guys in Washington who we don't even know personally put an end to all that?
I have friends and family members who voted in a way I did not vote. That has not changed my relationship with them at all.

@DrWatsonThis is how I am thinking. I won't let anyone or anything tear my family apart.

Well, TBH...I feel a bit like that at times. Folks pick up things they hear on the news and just repeat and repeat. I don't even think they know what they are saying at times...but because they've memorized media sound bytes they feel more clever than otherwise.
It's extremely exhausting, because you can't discuss things with parrots.

@RogueLoner And when the arguments are an exhausting repeat of an argument someone had with you yesterday.

People are free to embrace whatever ideology they choose.
People are also free to speak out in favor of their ideology or denounce someone else’s.
It doesn’t mean you have to believe either side - or even listen to them.

I think US should split in two separate countries.
