There is no way in hell

There is no way in hell I am ever moving into a bad area. They will have to take me to court or send in the national guard to take me from my house. I don't care if what I can afford right now is in the ghetto I am not going. It's not my fault that corona is legit messing with my income. My hours have been slashed and it's causing me to fall very behind. I am trying my best but my best isn't cutting it. I'm afraid I will have to pack up and move again. I thought I did a good job picking something far more modest than what I was living in previously and had did just fine before this hit.

I have been looking around at what I can afford "below my means" to keep above the tide and they are all in bad areas. I am not risking my life in those areas to be able to stay afloat. I'd rather drown in a sea of debt than risk walking to my car and getting shot at. I know for a fact they'd steal my car and I would be a target. They would see the types of things I would be moving into my place and would break in and rob me blind. Absolutely not and you can just forget about gardening or doing anything outdoors because it wouldn't be safe to do anything. I could be in the backyard tending to my garden and get prison shanked pruning my roses. No thank you. Unfortunately I might have to move back to Michigan where my money would go further than it does here in New York. Sorry mom but I refuse to go anywhere near Florida at the moment for obvious reasons.

This is why I am hoping things work out and continue to move forward with my partner. He has a fabulous career and can pull me out from the brink of poverty. I don't want to leech off of him but right now I don't seem to have any other choice. We had a fabulous time a few days ago out in the country at his parents country house. I know they don't like me but I'm going to win them over whether they like it or not. It's just annoying knowing your best just isn't good enough. I feel defeated and depressed.

If you can't afford NYC, you won't be able to afford to live on your own in Bloomfield Hills. You either need to swallow your pride and talk to your father to get some consideration or consider Florida despite the health risk.

@Addictedtoglamour Could you live under his roof... long term?
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@MarkPaul Only if he won't ride my butt and lecture me to death. I would also call dibs on my old room

@Addictedtoglamour Well, he's not going to stop pushing your buttons. It's what you do to each other. And, that could end up be stressful too.

lower cost location isn’t really bad. You just have to adapt to living in a middle class neighborhood. Not everyone who live in low income apartments is a snob, but you can live in high class neighborhoods certainly a higher percentage of those persons are snobs. People that come from high class neighborhoods will not or can’t adapt middle or lower class neighborhoods. You can lose your life in any neighborhoods not just lower or middle class neighborhoods. I’ve lived in both middle class and lower class neighborhoods in my life. If you don’t bug them they won’t bug you.
Maybe you just don't understand the ghetto nikka. It ain't so bad dude really. I been in lots of ghettos just be humble and stay in own business you be fine
@Addictedtoglamour You don't think what goes on between closed doors in nice areas is unsafe and hostile?
SoulAsylum · 31-35, M
@Addictedtoglamour life is unsafe you could get hit my a car crossing the road.
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@SavedByZero There is abuse in all areas but it's far more dangerous in bad areas.
SoulAsylum · 31-35, M
Just find a trailer somewhere they're not to expensive most the time.
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@SoulAsylum I would rather not move to a trailer park if I can't help it. Besides all of my things wouldn't fit.
This is an example of privilege.
Nobody wants to live in an impoverished neighborhood—nobody does. But only certain people think they shouldn’t have to, regardless of their income. 😒
@Addictedtoglamour You believe that “leeching off” someone else (to use your words) is more honorable than paying your own way, albeit in a less than ideal setting ? I saw the photo of a building you posted not long ago. I volunteer with people who sleep in their cars and on the streets.
Addictedtoglamour · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard I would rather not leech off of him but if I can't make it on my own then who am I to not accept a hand up.
@Addictedtoglamour Accepting a hand up is not the same as reaching a hand out when you have alternatives and then pretending it’s the nobler thing to do.
