French teacher beheaded by Islamist for showing Mohammad cartoons in class

Honor and respect to him for teaching his students about freedom of speech.

We do not realise what kind of monsters we are allowing into our societies.

Disrespect is not equal to freedom of speech lol. If the Islamists say they find it extremely offensive if someone draws caricatures of their holy figures, I don't think it's hard to respect that boundary. And if they're saying that it's punishable by beheading, why tf would you go on and do the exact thing? He's not cool or a hero. Just stupid. As stupid as those beheading him.
@assemblingaknob you’d think charlie hebdo would have been a big clue ..
😏👍

@assemblingaknob Everyone can feel offended. That's why there are laws saying what is a crime and what is not. If someone finds French laws are too tolerant towards relugious satire, they can leave to other countries where law and religion go hand in hand

@assemblingaknob no. That would be subservience to islamic thinking.

@Cierzo yes I totally agree with that. No native should feel unsafe in their own country.

@revenant just my opinion, i don't really agree. For instance we as humans all create our boundaries and expect people to observe them and feel entitled to call them out if we feel attacked. I could disrespect your boundaries and misuse your identity/image in a setting solely because not doing so would mean "subservience to Revenant's thinking"? Doesn't make sense, as it's uncalled for and totally unnecessary unless I have something personal against you, or if I'm generally a pot stirrer. And you have all the right to take offense, call the authorities on me and file a case against me, run a media campaign for awareness of your boundaries and conduct peaceful protests.

Do I believe in beheading people because they disagree with another's beliefs/boundaries? No.

@assemblingaknob If I came into your home and told you how to think, how and what to cook, how to furnish your home and generally dictate to you how you should live your life in your own home because I think I am better than you..you would not like it.

@revenant yes you're absolutely right! All history all over the world would be different if only this was respected. Sadly the Europeans and their descendants only believe it's true when they are the victims.

That being said, drawing holy figures of islam is to muslims, what black face is to black people: an extremely unforgivable attack on their identity. And they don't need to be in your house for it to be offensive to them.

@assemblingaknob muslims exploit the status of victimhood. We are not talking about the past. We are talking about a teacher and critical thinking. The muslims students were warned and told they could go outside and not witness the lesson.
Cathedrals burned and yet nobody went to decapitate muslims
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@revenant the muslims responsible SHOULD have been decapitated!
revenant · F
@assemblingaknob I would not go that far
