I Love Cadbury's Chocolate

Can the UK Government intervene and buy it back from the USA. Why did we ever let it go. What happened to our chunky square bars? I miss the tinfoil wrapper. 😕 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5431333/NHS-bans-Cadbury-bars-battle-greedy-giant.html

I'm hoping that the Labour party can actually unify themselves before the next election, to give themselves a chance of getting in. They aren't perfect by a long chalk but at least they present an image of caring for people (unlike the Tories), I'd like to see them given a chance at least to try and protect the NHS, if for nothing else.

@GeniUs I don’t know..Corbyn seems to have the right ethics and ideas for the radical change people want but seems to lack the leadership needed to drive it through. Time will tell I guess.

I think he's good as a leader but his policies need questioning for example, if he spends hundreds of millions of pounds setting up state businesses how will he ensure they remain public once he leaves office? It's a good idea but I fear will be sold as soon as he isn't there to maintain it.

And after it was bought, it never really tasted quite the same...🤔
It's so wrong!

The philosophy of the family who started the company, was all about community, environment and Making a quality product for the everyday man.

The Cadbury factory near me, ( first one they set up outside the UK), got sold recently - they've stopped the tours, and some of the lines of chocolate.

It's losing it's wonderful tradition. 🥺

It is sad to see

@Toasty we could all crowdfund and create our own company, call it Bradburys? It can't be that hard to mix up a recipe that's close to that delicious taste. We could call Dairy Milk, Dairy Silk...? A Flake could be called a Fluke, a Twirl can be a Twinkle. What do you think?

@Ironicman The best way to fight a company is with competition. Sounds like a good plan

This government doesn't buy assets it sells them.
GeniUs · 56-60, M
There would be a chance but as with all of his other proposals, to have a state bank and energy companies, it would cost his administration but the next party in would sell it all and claim it was their policies which had created the windfall some of which finds it's way back to the voters. The majority of voters think, 'this is great' and retain them for further windfalls. The electorate demonstrates superficial thought and selfishness.

Such a shame, Cadburys, Rowntree... If we could some how recreate the garden cities of the past, house local people that work in manufacturing great British products. I suppose I'm fantasising.
GeniUs · 56-60, M
Long gone, successive greedy governments since Thatcher rose (including Blair's) where they are working for themselves and not the people. Hundreds of thousands of people with an ethic of 'do nothing' rather than work. It would literally take a revolution to hit a mid ground of spending money on the people but not giving it away, to make the UK great again.

They have totally ruined the Creme Eggs...
Ironicman · 56-60, M
@Quizzical I've not had one in years. What have they done to Cream Eggs FFS.
Quizzical · 46-50, M
@Ironicman They changed the chocolate to a Kraft formula from the original Cadbury's one.
